Marcie J. DeBolt-Dixon, 45, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS.
She was born August 2, 1971 on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC, the daughter of Buford E. and Susanna M. (Redeker) DeBolt. Marcie was baptized on February 8, 1987 at the First Christian Church, Downs, KS, by Pastor David Hardy. She graduated in the class of 1990 at Beloit High School, Beloit, KS. Marcie married Todd Dixon on April 4, 2010 and they made their home in Salina, KS.
Marcie had a big heart and would try to help anybody that needed it. She always had a big smile on her face and tried to lift you up even if she was down also. Growing up she had the nickname "Little Tank", she was as wide as she was short. Marcie and her sisters delivered the Salina Journal for many years while growing up in Downs. She loved to go on walks with Todd, write letters, and spend time with her cat Midnight. Her pride and joy was her son Preston, they were inseparable as he grew up. Preston took care of her as much as she took care of him. Marcie loved becoming a grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her three grandchildren.
Marcie is survived by her husband Todd Dixon of Salina; son Preston (Tanya) DeBolt of Miltonvale; father and mother, Buford and Sue DeBolt of Downs; a step-son, Tison Dixon of Springfield, CO; a step daughter, Natalie Dixon of Springfield, CO; two sisters, Trisha Harding of Downs, Leigh Ann (Christopher) Kirby of St. Joseph, MI; father-in-law, Larry Dixon of Guymon, OK; a brother-in-law, Jeff Dixon of Claremore, OK; sister-in-law, Holly (Ken) Palmer of Gunnison, CO and three grandchildren, Autumn Vogan-DeBolt & Tyron & Ember DeBolt.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Louis and Erma Redeker and her mother-in-law, Kathy Dixon.
A celebration of Marcie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017 at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, Smith Center. Visitation will be from 8:00 until service time Saturday, February 18th at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Downs City Cemetery, Downs, KS. Memorials may be given to the Marcie DeBolt-Dixon Memorial Fund in care of the funeral chapel.
