Edward Gardner, 86, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at his home in Lebanon, KS.
He born February 16, 1931 in McAndrews, KY, the son of Ed and Matilda (Ball) Gardner. He was a United States Army Veteran serving from October 2, 1952 to September 11, 1954.
Ed had several hobbies throughout his life, he enjoyed gardening, working around the house, riding motorcycles in the desert with his brothers and playing pool which he was known as a pool shark. Ed loved to help around the Lebanon community and would be part of the "Clean Up Helpers" on Highway 36 and Junction south of Lebanon whenever he could. Family was everything to Ed, he always had a kind word to say and his smile and the twinkle in his blue eyes would warm his families heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers
Ed is survived by his daughter Darlene Angle of Lebanon, KS; two step-sons, Kevin Mullen of Oklahoma and John Wayne Bennett of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Paula Angle, Damon Angle and Timothy Angle; seven great grandchildren, Britney Angle, McKinzy Davis, Dez-Rae Davis, Haylee Angle, Alissa Angle, Hannah Angle and Jordan Angle; four step grandchildren and one great-great grandson Lucas James.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018 at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 113 S. Madison St., Smith Center, KS. There will not be a public visitation as cremation was chosen. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Edward Gardner Memorial Fund and sent in care of the funeral chapel.
